My first breadmaker and I love it. It makes a perfect loaf every time, white or wholemeal; the only time it didn't work properly and I got a flattish loaf was when I opened the lid to take a look at what was happening. So my advice is put the ingredients in and set it, then leave it alone. It's really easy to use, once you've made a couple of loaves the whole thing takes five minutes and the control panel is idiot proof. It requires almost no cleaning except the bottom of the spindle which can be cleaned after putting an inch of warm water in the bottom of the pan. You do get the impression that every aspect of the design has been carefully thought out and the manual, written in good English is very easy to follow.Thoroughly recommended.(Read more)

i have had a morphy richard's Morphy Richards 48248 Compact Breadmaker Graphitewhich was ok but packed in after 12 months so that went in the bin - did try and get a replacement part as it was still under guarantee but nothing came of it and waited for months.so i thought i'd splash out on this one instead, and i'm so happy with it. it makes much nicer bread than my previous and the cycles are much quieter.i like the bake only option for bread but you do need to line the tin which is a bit fiddly so i bought a re-usable liner from lakeland ltd.my favourite up to now is a white bread with poppy, linseed and sesame seeds also the french bread is yummy but the only downfall i'm getting through loads of calorific butter!i also love the fact that the kneading blade stays in the bread pan - the morphy richards one, i was fishing it out for ages which leaves a big hole in the bottom.(Read more)

Consumer review about Philips HD9015/30 Daily Collection Bread Maker, 1 Kg - White :

If like me you can only find Allinson Yeast in the supermarket, I have found that where it calls for Active yeast, use a half and half combination of Allinson active yeast AND Allinson easy bake yeast for the perfect rise height rather than playing about with warming water, adding salt etc. Must have baked about a hundred loaves ranging from rock hard to volcanic before I realised what was wrong. Now the machine works perfectly!Edit: 20 months use and the bread pan spindle dropped out the bottom of the pan. Philips have offered me a refund as they have no replacement pans which is good of them. In the mean time I purchased a Morphy Richards 48326 and guess what, the pans are almost identical! I tried the pan in the old Philips and it worked! See the picture of the Philips with bread baked in the pan from the Morphy Richards. The only difference in the pans is that the Morphy Richards 48280001 is about 1.5cm taller but the lid still closes and the bread still bakes. I hope this information stops hundreds of HD9015s ending up in landfill sooner than necessary.(Read more)

I am a newcomer to breadmakers so I thought I would buy the best as this had the best reviews. I have not had any mishaps with the bread they have all come out great, so now I buy my flour in bulk it's easier. The timer is wonderfull & so nice to come home to a fresh baked bread smell, my dogs are always to be found near the breadmaker. The packet bread mixes are great in there too & the sundried tomatoe & parmesan is a must to try & comes out massive, as one reviewer said they are quite hard to cut. The Russell Hobbs 22720 Breadmaker is a good looking machine with sleek neat lines.All these good looks don't mean a thing unless the Breadmaker actually performs and by that I mean delivers a good loaf of bread.I have tested my machine with 4 different bread mixes so far.Three have made terrific loaves of bread. They were a brown whole meal, a sunflower mix and a Ciabatta. With the other I used a mix to make the dough and bake bread cakes in the oven.Again the action of the machine was excellent.So from my testing the breadmaker has performed well.But...I have had 4 different breadmakers in the past.The second was a Russell Hobbs too. It performed perfectly but I foolishly parted with that excellent machine, when I was given a new one. The last machine although all singing and all dancing was a lousy breadmaker which produced terrible results, not fully baked, soft spots etc bread.My point is that Breadmakers should be good and produce consistently good bread but they are not. It is rather like toasters, some toast well others are uneven.I see from my fellow reviewers that they have had mixed results with theirs.My advice is, if you are unlucky to get one, follow all the directions and it still produces poor results send it back to the makers/Thanks for reading.(Read more)
