If like me you can only find Allinson Yeast in the supermarket, I have found that where it calls for Active yeast, use a half and half combination of Allinson active yeast AND Allinson easy bake yeast for the perfect rise height rather than playing about with warming water, adding salt etc. Must have baked about a hundred loaves ranging from rock hard to volcanic before I realised what was wrong. Now the machine works perfectly!Edit: 20 months use and the bread pan spindle dropped out the bottom of the pan. Philips have offered me a refund as they have no replacement pans which is good of them. In the mean time I purchased a Morphy Richards 48326 and guess what, the pans are almost identical! I tried the pan in the old Philips and it worked! See the picture of the Philips with bread baked in the pan from the Morphy Richards. The only difference in the pans is that the Morphy Richards 48280001 is about 1.5cm taller but the lid still closes and the bread still bakes. I hope this information stops hundreds of HD9015s ending up in landfill sooner than necessary.(Read more)
